Preventing Falls:
“fvery year one in three adults age 65 and older falls”
"Falls can lead to moderate to severe injuries, such as hip fractures and head traumas, and can even increase the risk of early death. Fortunately, falls are a public health problem that is largely preventable". See link Below.

If we do not remain active through the aging process there is a tendency to lose strength, balance and coordination, becoming susceptible to falls. As stated above falls are a big concern for seniors. Aerobic and strength exercises definitely help with endurance and strength. Yoga is an outstanding tool for reclaiming the actual skills required for balancing. Below is a basic balancing position. At first hold onto an immovable object, to steady your balance. As you make gains in strength and balance, hold less, until eventually you are not holding. Start with a few seconds, slowly progress to one minute.
If you are a senior on medications and experience dizziness check with your doctor.
Make sure your living areas are free of clutter and well lit.
Have your eyes checked once a year.
Exercise.
